E36 Racing Steering Shaft - Lower U-Joint
The Tuttle Motorsports E36 steering shaft lower u-joint replaces the stock lower u-joint while utilizing the existing steering shaft and upper joint. The rubber used for the stock coupling inevitably deteriorates, resulting in a sloppy steering response. By simply changing out the stock coupling with our upgraded version you’ll notice a much tighter and more precise feel at any speed.
Equipped with caged needle bearings with a slight preload to eliminate backlash.
The bearing trunnion is a single piece of hardened chrome-vanadium tool steel.
The grease seals are high-durometer fluorocarbon o-rings in compression against the end surfaces of the needle bearing cups, which means they will retain the bearing grease under severe conditions and sustained high temps.

///PLEASE NOTE: Our upgraded u-joints use set screws to maintain a low-profile and the tolerances are higher to reduce any slop in the steering. Please make sure the set screws are removed from the spline prior to installation. Splines can be gently cleaned with a wire brush and/or degreaser for smoother installation.
